What is Carman Ranch Direct?
Carman Ranch Direct helps eaters realize their greatest potential for an affordable, healthy diet. We’ve created an independent, regional food supply chain that offers our customers direct access to the healthiest, most delicious nutrient-dense meat found anywhere.

Why shop with Carman Ranch Direct rather than going to a grocery store or shopping online with others?
Our unique and committed relationships with our regional partners, and our shared values set us apart from other retailers. And without the overhead of a retail location, we are able to keep our costs down and pass some of those savings on to you. We’re also proud of our ability to reduce our carbon footprint and shorten the distance your food travels from a farm or producer to your table.

What is the pick up location?
Pick-ups are located at our warehouse in inner SE Portland (1140 SE 7th Avenue, at Salmon Street) and are hosted by BLine, a like-minded business who helps to facilitate the delivery.

How do pick ups work?
We have conveniently located delivery site where you meet us every four weeks, to pick up your order. Arrive at the location at the scheduled time. You will be greeted by a BLine team member who will take your name and go through your order with you. Your order will be packed in an insulated bag so you shouldn’t need a cooler unless you are traveling more than an hour.)

Carman Ranch Direct communicates with each customer about order deadlines and delivery times, which occur on a regular schedule.

What if I can’t pick up an order?
Arrangements for late order pickup must be made with your Host. Please communicate with your Host or the Carman Ranch team member ahead of time to let them know if you will be late.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to a Pick Up Location?
The standard minimum order is $75.00 for each member of a Pick Up Location.
How is my meat packaged?
After the carcasses are hand-cut, the meat is vacuum-sealed in premium heavy weight packaging designed to completely seal each cut of meat. This means that the outer edges of the packaging can be torn or slightly damaged without compromising the vacuum seal. Once the product has been packaged, it is flash frozen to preserve freshness and flavor.

All meat items come individually packaged and frozen, and will be packed in boxes or bags for your convenience.

Can I customize a subscription box?
These boxes are designed to give you the best possible value, while supporting our mission to utilize the whole carcass of the animal. For that reason, and because we’re able to offer the special pricing is due to the efficiencies that the standardization of these we are unable to offer custom option. Consequently, offering customization would increase the price due to the extra labor and inventory management this would create. We do encourage you to take advantage of our many different à la carte options.

Can I edit my order?
You can change your order any time after submitting, until the order deadline date, which is 72 hours prior to pick up. Add items simply by shopping the store as normal. Remove any items by selecting your order details

What if I am missing a product upon pick up?
For optimum freshness, orders are pulled directly before being delivered to you. In some cases, an item that you ordered in advance of your deadline may not be available at the time of delivery. You will not charged for products that are not delivered. If you are missing an item that your invoice shows you’ve been charged for, please contact us immediately so that we can offer a solution and adjust your invoice.

How do I return a product?
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. We understand that mistakes can happen, in both Carman Ranch Direct’s operation and during delivery. We’re happy to help you.

When will my card be charged?
Because there's a weight variance between similar cuts of meat, we're unable to charge your card until your entire order has been packed and weighed. This ensures that you will be charged for the exact weight of each item you receive. You can expect to receive an email with a detailed, itemized receipt confirming your payment. We encourage you to bring a copy of your order's confirmation email or have it accessible on your phone. This can help speed up the process.
